New class!!!!!!! Yoga w/ Sadie Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30 First class free then $10 per session after that
Tuesday and Thursday nights at 4:30pm
First class is free then $10 per session after that
Hello! My name is Sadie McDonald. I was first exposed to yoga in 2009, when my college roommate and I started going to classes. I soon found myself drawn to that positive energy zinging through my body after every class.
Yoga allows me to cleanse all the internal chatter in my head. Yoga has guided me down a path of well-being, and teaches me everyday to love my body and treat it like a temple. Yoga has created an understanding of how important it is to unite the mind, body, and soul. I want to share my knowledge of yoga, and help myself and others answer the question “Who am I?”
I recently completed a 200-hour yoga teacher-training program on the Big Island, Hawaii, where I learned vinyasa flows, pranayama breathing, chanting, and meditation techniques.

Dr. Schmidt is a chiropractor and a naprapath. Naprapathy is a system of treatments that utilizes manipulation of muscles, ligaments and tendons, in conjunction with dietary measures, to facilitate the recuperative and regenerative powers of the body. Naprapathy is an offshoot of the chiropractic profession and been around since 1908, when chiropractors split into different factions as a result of differences in opinion as to the fundamental cause sease in the human body. Whereas a chiropractor will focus on spinal alignment and manipulation of the skeletal system, naprapaths believe that it is the soft tissues and ligaments that determine the alignment of the skeletal system and therefore focus on soft tissue manipulation. The end result is a treatment that feels something like a combination of a traditional chiropractic adjustment and a deep massage. Heavenly, if you ask me. Naprapaths do not use dynamic thrusts, but apply gentle manipulation to ease the bone through its full range of possible motion. Since Dr. Schmidt’s introduction to Naprapathy in 1981 she has also incorporated the Oriental Medicine she learned from Dr. Pak Lau and his daughter, Dr. Lisa Lau of Chicago’s Chinatown. In addition, to the various services she provides including the naprapathic treatments, acupuncture treatments, Abrahams Hicks Counseling, she also has written books on nutrition and has developed her own line of green food supplements.

What is Qigong?
Qi (Chi) means “life energy” and gong means “cultivation and its benefits.” Qigong (pronounced chee-gung) stems from ancient China and is a profound technology for healing and regeneration, vitality and joy. For thousands of years, Qigong has been practiced to reverse aging processes, reduce stress, prevent illness, heal disease and enhance one’s overall quality of life.
What is Wisdom Healing Qigong?
There are many forms of Qigong. Wisdom Healing Qigong (WHQ) was developed by Dr. Ming Pang, a Qigong Grandmaster trained in both western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. Dr. Pang synthesized his profound understanding of new and old healing sciences by combining modern medical knowledge with the ancient practice of Qigong. The result is an integrative system of self-healing and cultivation that is suited for the modern world. WHQ combines movement, sound and visualization practices and is suitable for all ages and all conditions. MaryAnn Tomko has Trainings in Biocranial Therapy, Network Spinal Analysis, Somato Respiratory Integration, Hatha Yoga, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Usui Reiki, Quantum Touch, Oneness Blessing
She offers Oneness Blessing every 1st and 3rd Thursday at 5:30pm
The Oneness Blessing (also known as Deeksha) is a non-denominational transfer of Divine Energy from one person to another. The purpose of this unique blessing is to awaken in us the experience of Oneness. Sourced in Divine Intelligence, it operates appropriately in response to the needs of the individual. In a gentle and loving way, it naturally allows each of us to deepen our relationships with ourselves, with those we love, with all of humanity, and with our own Divine. A perception of being separate from those around us and our environment becomes the source of our psychological and existential (spiritual) suffering. The Oneness Blessing is a response to this experience of human suffering, gently freeing us from mental patterns that bind us. It is a gift of love and divine energy that supports our growth on the spiritual path, no matter what that path is What does it do? The Blessing initiates internal changes that enable the senses to be free from the interference of the chattering mind. When the senses are unclouded by the mind’s interpretations, a natural clarity of perception occurs, accompanied by spontaneous feelings of joy, inner calmness and connection to the Oneness in everything. Why has the Oneness Blessing Come at this time? Our planet, and all of humanity, is currently undergoing a major evolutionary transformation. This is impacting our environment, our social structures, and our individual and collective consciousness.
Passages Rising is committed to our local community and one way we express that is by contributing office space to Apple Seeds Inc.

sustainability through after school gardening clubs, cooking classes, farm field trips

Integrated Energy Therapy is also known as ‘Healing with the Angels’ and is said to get ‘the issues out of the tissues and heal the trauma without the drama’ by removing conditioning at the cellular level from both past and present lives. Becoming an IET Practitioner means to become a conduit for this angelic energy via a simple process called ‘attunement’, allowing you to bring this healing to others, clearing cellular memory areas of negative conditioning and replacing them with a natural recognition of our true healthy and balanced selves.
“Energy work with Elle Marie has completely changed my life. My relationships with my husband and my children are better. I can deal with stress and anxiety better. I sleep better. I just feel healthier and happier in general! I can’t believe the difference it has made!” -Kara Iribarren
Passages Rising is excited to introduce these beautifully created incense bottles by local artist S.L. Knight. Knight calls her creation the “Incens-tion Bottle” because she takes the concept of intention based incense burning to a more powerful and focused level by adding elements of color, stones and feng shui to each original bottle. Each Incens-tion Bottle is a carefully designed blend of elements that super charge the central intention for each bottle. Knight skillfully selects stones and crystals for their healing and metaphysical properties which remain inside the bottle on a “balancer” strand which infuses the smoke as it leaves the bottle. But, she doesn’t stop there. Knight then adds a symbol to the neck of the bottle that further focuses the intention. Color and intention are then combined to recommend the best Feng shui placement in your home or office. Even if you cannot burn incense in your office the bottles are a beautifully powerful healing tool for your environment. As an added treat, Knight has created some of the Incens-tion Bottles from vintage and collectable bottles to include cobalt glass. On each bottle you will find a card listing the intention, stones and best Feng Shui placement. Passages Rising has the largest selection of incense in all of Arkansas and you’re sure to find the perfect incense to burn in these wonderful new bottles.

On Thursdays at 2 pm, Queen Townsend leads Transmission Meditation.
Transmission Meditation is a form of group meditation for the purpose of “stepping down” or transmitting spiritual energies which thus become accessible and useful to the general public. It is the creation, in cooperation with the Hierarchy of Masters, of a vortex or pool of higher energy for the benefit of humanity.
It is a form of service in which we can be involved knowing that we are helping the evolution of humanity into and beyond the new age. It is so powerful that in one year of correct, sustained Transmission Meditation, you can make the same kind of inner growth as in 10, 15, or even 20 years of ordinary meditation. But the true, fundamental purpose of Transmission Meditation is service to the world. It is a simple, altruistic motive of serving. It is not the place to seek individual guidance, contact with the astral planes or messages of any kind. It is a giving of oneself in service, acting as a positive mental channel through which the energies sent by the Masters can be stepped down.
To take part in Transmission Meditation, you only have to hold your attention to the center between the eyebrows (the ajna center). In practice you will find that the attention will not stay there. It will keep dropping to its usual level somewhere around the solar plexus. As soon as the attention drops, and you become aware of that, you have to bring it back to the ajna center. This is done by thinking inwardly the mantra OM.
In a Transmission group, you dimly let yourself be an instrument, while the energy is put through your chakras by the Masters. You act as a positive, poised, mental channel through which the energy is sent in a highly scientific manner. It is directed by Them, by Their thought, to where is it most useful and most needed.

In affiliation with the Tibetan Buddhist Practices Group, Geshe Dorjee teaches and leads meditation each Sunday morning from 11:00 am to approximately 12:30 pm. Teachings are held at Passages Rising at 14 E. Meadow St. in Fayetteville. Cushions are available; however, chairs are limited. If you prefer to sit in a chair, please consider bringing your own.
Summaries of some of Geshe la’s recent teachings are available in the Wisdom and Method section of the Meditation with Geshe Thupten Dorjee blog.
Also, you may hear audio recordings of Geshe la’s teachings at InternetArchive.org and searching for Geshe Thupten Dorjee.
These teachings are free and open to the public. For more information, contact Karen Chotkowski at 587-8920.
The following are some useful guidelines to show respect for Buddhist teachings and to engender dignity and self-discipline while you participate in formal teachings and practice. These are offered for your own goodness:
- Arrive 15 minutes early for teachings to read or meditate, if possible.
- Do not disturb others who are meditating.
- Wear clean and appropriate dress.
- Shoes should be left outside the shrine room.
- Feet should not be pointed towards the teacher or the altar.
- Dharma text and practice books should not be placed on the floor.
- Stand when the teacher enters the shrine room and remain standing while the teacher performs prostrations as a matter of respect and Buddhist custom. Performing prostrations yourself is optional, however.
- Remain for the whole class or practice as a matter of respect and Buddhist custom. If you know in advance that you are unable to attend the whole class or practice, then we encourage you not to attend that particular session.
Geshe Thupten Dorjee comes to us from the Drepung Loseling Monastery in South India. A member of the Gelugpa lineage, Geshe-la embodies the rich educational tradition that is the primary heritage of that tradition; and his work in the classroom has been exemplary.
Geshe is offering four courses per year at the University of Arkansas, ranging from seminars on Tibetan culture to larger classes on Buddhist philosophy. His courses have been overwhelmingly popular, and we are currently working to expand our curriculum; we are designing a specialized course, for example, on the theory and practice of the Tibetan sand mandala.
In 2008, Geshe received the prestigious University of Arkansas Outstanding Faculty Award from the U of A Associated Student Government and the Arkansas Alumni Association. The award is typically won by faculty members at Arkansas who have been teaching for 10-20 years. However, Geshe received the honor after only 18 months of service to the University. In their letters of nomination, Geshe’s students reported that he was the most extraordinary teacher that they had ever had, and that he had changed the very way they think about their lives and what they might do with their lives in the future.
